Hi. My name is Alexander. Alex for short. I want to speak about my plans for future. Choosing your future profession or trade is a difficult choice, but an important one: nobody else can make it for you.
As for me. 1 would like to work with people rather then with figures and numbers. I want to travel much and see other places and meet different people. One of the opportunities for this is to work for a foreign enterprise in Russia or to work abroad for a big national company. You also travel much if you work for the travel agency. It's logical. And as far as I know, this kind of job is well paid! Or sometimes I think about my own firm and work for myself.
Of course, it is quite difficult to qualify for such a job. YOU need a very good educational level and a good command of spoken and written foreign language, computer skills and, finally, some experience. So, I decided to enter our University, the faculty of Economics. Here we have a lot of subjects connected with our future profession, for example, the theory of Economics, Macroeconomics and Microeconomics. Accounting, the history of economic theories, management, marketing and so on. You may ask "what does the economics study?' The main question of Economics is that we сап't have every/king. So we always find ourselves in the situation when our wants are unlimited, but the resources necessary to satisfy these wants are limited. Thus, every society is faced with the identical problem, the problem of scarcity. Economics deals with this problem throughout history, but the development of modern economics began in the I7 century. Since that time economists have developed methods for studying and explaining how individuals, businesses and nations use their available economic resources. Large corporations use economics to study the ways they, do business and to suggest methods for making more efficient use of their employees_ equipment, factories and other resources.
Besides, we have many other general educational subjects such as Maths, History, Sociology, Philosophy. English and so on. I also think that English is very important subject among them. Present economic situation demands from a specialist the skill of working on the international level so, the specific knowledge of English and possession of the communicative competence becomes the first-priority task for a modern specialist.
Moreover, I think that beside good education a highly qualified specialist should possess some personal qualities. For example, he or she must be quite intelligent, communicative and witty. Administrative or managerial skills are also very important. The ability to organize other people is a rare skill. It not only requires knowledge understanding of the functions within an organization, but also the ability to motivate people. In addition, a specialist must be able to organize nonhuman resources using techniques of forecasting, planning, coordinating and controlling. These are the techniques which require judgment as well as knowledge. It's necessary to point out decision-making skills and initiative. Decisions are the part of organization's everyday activities. The higher one goes up the hierarchy, the more necessary is the skill of decision. The risks which all organizations face mean that those organizations have to be run by people who have the ability to diagnose and assess the risks, and the capacity to decide on the correct strategy. Business is constantly changing and organizations require people with initiative in order to survive.
I think 1 possess most of these qualities, but everything will come with the experience. So, I don't think I'll he unemployed. Finns need specialists in finance, management and marketing. Employers need young and energetic employees like me!
