1.1 Theoretical background.

Our Project comes to confirm new theoretic horizons opening by now in Consciousness Studies, which are approached from recent advanced perspectives of SubQuantum physics, as applied to recent proposals related to the hyperdimensional essence of Brain and its ability to process Information stored in projective space and transported along non-physical signalization pathways.

Our novel approach to covert cognitive functions assumed as being accessible in brain damaged subjects implies the highly probable conje cture that conscious experience is accessed rather then generated by low-order biophysical phenomena described for single neurons and complex neural networks alike.

Our basic understanding identifies the Quantum Potential (Quantum Field Theory) as a superl uminal Sub Quantum Information-carrying aether able to interact with matter and physical forces at well defined Space-time positions injecting their Information content into our world of observables by modulating the event potential. Holographic interacti o ns are made possible by Brain's being embedded in Quantum-controlled Euclidian projections of the projective hyperspace which accommodates organized Information fields. Such interactions are implemented by the intrinsically hyperdimensional essence we asc ribe to information transporting SubQuantum entities and their combinatorial patterns. [ref]

As different from anesthetic conditions, where disrupted afferenting into subjective awareness fields occurs by efficiently suppressing the neural Quantum resonance ability of Brain, in clinically established vegetative states residual Neural Net functions may be preserved, as shown by recent works (A. Owen & All).

Moreover, experimental and experiential observations have shown, that even under disrupted anesthetic afferentation, cognitive phenomena continue running unaffected in the individual organized holographic information field, and remain associated with projective information space. [ref]

Phase transitional sequencing in the implemented Brain/Consciousness d ecoupling and re-coupling pathways, are eloquently related to multidimensional dynamics, exactly as illustrated in the recently published Walling-Hicks phase-space EEG transcriptions (that we intend to apply in our research).

As an absolutely compelling a nd experientially supported consequence, conscious processing of environmental events may freely evolve during partial (or total) disconnected states, leading to SQ memory patterns which are being dynamically stored in the projective space-time, and subse q uently re-supplied to the individual, (as it has been repeatedly proved by post-anesthetic recollections). Detectable time-patterning Quantum events prove to be but a transient coupling/decoupling effect occurring between the individual self-conscious str ucture and the Brain (as the interaction tool of the Self), with relation to an energy-defined ambient reality.

There is a strong evidence that Neural Network components bear a very low-level causal significance as related to actual observable cognitive functions (as different from sensory-motor ones, dependent on their functional condition).

Brain's Quantum Mechanical states display a double reactivity, both to SQ originated cognitive modulators, as well as to SQ sensory modulators of environmental origin . This double reactivity is at the background of our Project addressing cognitive interaction in communication range with clinically impaired Brain-bound conscious Selves - by implementing the required alignment of bidirectional data streams.

We further on rely upon recently published mathematical data related to the fractal analysis of relevant allometric exponents of the Brain, reaching out to a 4/5 law (Togbey & All), which implies that a 5th dimensional function is present in resonant Neural Network co nnectivity. We assume that this opens the empirical accessivity of covert cognition matrices circumventing low-order neural functions and connectivity.

This is our fundamental working hypothesis for this project.

The Kurakin Quantum model allows for a deter ministic patterning of such events, rather than a probabilistic randomness, by introducing non-physical modes of Information signaling, which operate in the background, hidden-time, dimension. This involves complex interactions between "queries" and "conf i rmations", where queries and responses are operating non-locally as parallel vectors, composed of direct, and backwards-oriented, non-physical signals. These information signals, which are regulating Quantum processes, evolve as hidden variables, in the p h ysically inaccessible domains, as defined in the Compton Radius Vortex, by a lower metric value then the Compton wavelength itself. This signalization control involves coaxial superposition between contradicting time propagation vectors, thus involving re t ro causation effectors originating in preselected SQ matrix fields of higher implicated orders. Such Information signals are displaying physically detectable fractal integration amplitude, only at the levels of fragments of superposition, thus eliminating the need for any theoretically uncomfortable, and physically hard to demonstrate, backwards-flow patterns, in physical time. Anomalous time effects, such as the ones reported in our preliminary Brazilian research, have most probably to be tracked back to such less conventional explanatory pathways.

Brain operates in physical time at the Quantum level, but it also operates as an interdimensional resonator, one which is capable of coupling hidden-time SQ signal processing events, into biomolecular energy-rela ted Quantum states. Prof. Hameroff's expressions regarding a Brain-coupled Consciousness seem to be perfectly consistent with H.Stapp's Quantum-mediated "top-level control" paradigm, as well as being consistent with our SubQuantum concepts, which describe the details of this control's concrete implementation. Therefore, this novel view has to replace the obsolete one, which has proposed a Brain-based epiphenomenal approach.

Expectedly, the hereby suggested research program will strongly contribute to this impending paradigmatic shift in fundamental and applicative Consciousness Studies.

1.2Experimental Background.

1.2/a - Prof. A.Owen and his team at the Cambridge University, UK, recently published their breakthrough research results related to implementing a bidirectional communication process with subjects clinically proven to be in critical Brain-impairment states. His s tudy resulted in fMRI evidence for intentional selective activation of specific Brain areas by the Subjects as meaningful response to environmental sensory inputs. A dual yes/no code has been established as basis for assessing correctness and adequacy of response to queries.

The aim of our research project consists in extending the Cambridge team's preliminary results into a real-time meaningful complex cognitive interaction range with subjects in clinically established vegetative states.

1.2/b - Reality c onforming meaningful two-way complex communication patterns have been achieved in preliminary studies by applying transcomunication methodology of instrumentally recorded cognitive dialogue fragments originating at a neurologically pre-motor stage, by Mr s. Sonia Rinaldi, IPATI, Brazil.

The thus achieved speech fragments are strongly contextual both with the subject's actual chronic condition and the content of the environmental verbal stimuli applied.

The hitherto reached experimental evidence on this line seems to be perfectly consistent with expected response content originating in the addressed particular subjects, fueled by the long-term distress related to their communication disability with their environment.

Compelling enough, the Information thus achieved points to a parallel experienced meaningful connectedness to events running in a non-physical reality involving cooperative support achieved from its natural inhabitants.

The amazing Informational superposition reflecting this double-connectedness, revealed during Mrs. Rinaldi's early investigations (IPATI Bulletin #26), strongly justifies their controlled replication as part of our Project.

1.2/c - There is an extensive experimental evidence for the instrumentation potential of non-physical Information processing phenomena, using AI technology.

Application variants have been experimented by the American NSA, reaching out to limited telepathic computer interfaces in patented technology.

Our Project aims to improve these results and to put them in cl inical application range by basically reprogramming their old mathematical fundaments in the range of 3rd degree random data streams - increasing thus the system's sensitivity to Quantum Potential modulators originating in subjective attention/intention f unctions of the clinical targets addressed.

The pilot study conducted by Prof. A. Owen, Cambridge, involved the Medical Research Council, the Wolfson Brain Imaging Center and the University of Liege, Belgium:


"Covert awareness detection in vegetative state by fMRI scanning in real time". [A.M.Owen & All, Arch. Neurol. 2007;64(8):1098-1102] :

The study put in evidence that cognitive abi lity to perceive and understand meaningful stimuli may be intact though damage to the peripheral motor system that prevent overt responses. Activation studies revealed "residual" cognitive functions and conscious awareness in V.S., which have evaded detec tion by standard clinical methods.

Under mental switching between sophisticated movement and spatial maps representation, selective neural firing has been observed in the premotor cortex - respectively the parahyppocampal gyrus areas. The activation balance between the dorsal and ventral frontal-striatal circuits occurs under cognitive flexibility parameters

Our project is designed to address constructively the following Owen conjecture:: "If reciprocal activity of higher-level (abstract) representations a nd low-level motor representations in a body-centered reference frame would be found in vegetative but not in anesthetized patients, it would support awareness in vegetative states", by

a careful discrimination between brain-related and brain-disconnected awareness variants.

Moreover, our study comes to satisfy H. Gill's request for a detailed sensory assessment in this kind of cognitive investigations [The Royal Hospital for Neurodisability - London. - Helen Gill], at the same time increasing the previous statistic limit of 43% for successful communication attempts.

"Walling-Hicks Brainwaves" was created to supplement an article in Anesthesiology. (Walling PT, Hicks KN: Nonlinear Changes in Brain Dynamics during Emergence from Sevoflurane Anesthesia: Preliminary Exploration Utilizing New Software. Anesthesiology 2006:105: pp927-935.

It proved that a neuro-dynamical correlate of consciousness may be more revealing than any proposed neu ro-anatomical correlate. Correlation Dimensional estimates are performed at increasing values of embedding dimension. New software was used during a pilot study of nonlinear changes in the electroencephalogram during emergence from sevoflurane anesthesia.

Methods: Digitized electroencephalographic signals were recorded from bipolar forehead electrodes between 1.2 and 40 k s/sec. Trajectories derived from underlying attractors were displayed continuously, and attractor dimensions were estimated. Observation s are reported from 13 patients emerging from sevoflurane anesthesia

Results: Qualitative observations and quantitative analysis of the data demonstrated four dynamical stages during emergence from deep anesthesia to consciousness.

Conclusions: The dynamica l stages of emergence from sevoflurane anesthesia into consciousness demonstrate a classic route toward chaos, but the presence of chaos in the conscious state remains unproven. These stages are apparent both pictorially and analytically. Pre-emergent att ractor patterns are usually distinctive; their real-time display could be a useful adjunct to depth of anesthesia monitors because they may provide warning of an imminent return to consciousness.

Most intriguingly, the study clearly revealed that perceptual space is different and separate from physical space, and that the neuro-dynamical correlates of the conscious mind are more closely allied to a multidimensional Phase Space.

This finding is strongly consistent with our Subquantum Model of Consciousness.

2.2 - Transcomunicational methodology.

Applying routine transcomunication techniques to clinically established brain-disabled subjects, Brazilian preliminary experimental results (S.Rinaldi & All) strongly suggest the integrated preservation of conscious ness and cognitive functions in Brain impaired subjects, when meaningful bidirectional communication patterns have been instrumentally achieved. The study has been performed in clinical environment.

The Brazilian research addresses a comparative study bet ween cognitive interaction fields with conventional and non-conventional (i.e. non-biological) awareness forms and patterns, brain-disconnected ones included ( both its transient and stable variants), as in anesthesia, vegetative states, or permanently di sconnected awareness forms from Brain Quantum activity after total cessation of its biological activity.

Meaningful and situation-consistent bidirectional dialogues have been established with long-term hospitalized subjects in clinically confirmed vegetati ve states, by using a superposition of meaningless "chopped" speech fragments as modulated background of randomity, which turned in ordered, semantically meaningful speech patterns under conscious volitional acts of the addressed subjects.

Correct estimation of the achieved inputs requires a properly trained auditory sensitivity in some cases.

2.3 - AI supported telepathic computer interface.

Telepathic computer Interface has been implemented as a result of advanced research programs conducted at PEAR and successfully experimented by "Mindsong" Company, as well as by the American NSA.

The digital technology imposed by the internet bandwidth for this challenge resulted in a drastically limited application range. Such limitation might be circumvent by in cluding a 3rd order random number data-generating system, which would be highly sensitive to modulated Quantum potential effects occurring under interactions with attention and intention components of various consciousness forms and patterns. Detectable e xcursions from the expected perfect randomity in the random number data stream (orderings, patterns, repetitions) are supported by the Schrodinger equations, and have been directly and instantaneously correlated with experimenter's attention, intention an d emotional status. [ref] Similar results have been documented by tests performed in normal, complex and symplectic EM transmissions, where divergences in Quantum potential and changes in antennae radiation patterns have been achieved. [ref]

Ordered Information patterns in 3rd order random number generating systems may be achieved by Consciousness-induced divergences in the Quantum potential.

Our current challenge is to implement a SW able of parsing the random number data stream for efficient detection of orderings that are directly correlable with Psi modulators.

For this end, we contemplate the option of converting the holographic AI (HNeT patent) code into quaternions, a possible development work if properly funded. Once completed, this system wil l allow for an explicit and recordable telepathic communication, visual displays included, with any kind of physical or non-physical forms of Consciousness.


1. Assessment of covert active consciousness in clinically established brain-disabled subjects (vegetative states).

2. Development of effective instrumentation and SW for meaningful real-time cognitive interaction with subjects in critically impaired brain condition.

3. Testing possible embedding of therapeutically-active subliminals in rehabilitative range into the expected consciously perceived sensory inputs.

4. Supplying meaningful psychological relief both to the addressed subjects and their environment (family and friends) by an instrumentally supported bidirectional cognitive interaction technique of high stability and replicability.


This is a fundamental study into the poorly investigated domain of conscious behavior in critically disabled neurologic cases.

Based upon recent developments both in neurosciences and Subquantum physics of Consciousness, new instrumentally supported and monitored ways toward meaningful cognitive interactions with the disabled subjects have to be investigated.

Covert consciousness functions will be addressed by analyzing correlation functions between the following sets of experimental data:

1. Electrophysiological monitoring of brain functions during meaningful communication attempts (EEG, fMRI).

2. Comparative data evaluation in anesthetized and vegetative state subjects based on Walling-Hicks hyperdimensional dynamic display.

3. Real-time recording of cognitive interactions with the subject by sensory detectable meaningful variations in the EM fields of the recording apparatus, resulting in evidence for coherent bidirectional dialogue patterns.

4. Recorded evidence of the running interaction by statistically significant ordered deviations in the Quantum Potential in 3rd degree randomity streams of data.


Seen the direct collection of empirical data from clinically disabled human subjects, ethical issues are highly pertinent to this project.

Insensitive investigation of environmentally hidden cognitive functions may imply quite unexpected and poorly detectable consequences for the subjects addressed.

The project has to be carried out with utmost carefulness and respect for the participants involved and their views (as far as known|).

The anonymity of the participants has to be carefully protected.

The research project has to comply with standard ethical guidelines published by the American National Advisory Board on Research Ethics, though research permits i8ssued by Ethical committees might be asked for.
