Materials and Tools
 Yarn: 1 or more colors.
I used Scheepjes “STONE WASHED” ( 78% cotton and 22% acrylic ) in pink color, Annell
“Miami” (60% cotton and 40% acrylic) in white and Catania “ Original ” in blue.
Change of colors are only ad vices, you can choose your own color patterns.
 Crochet hook in accordance with the yarn you use .
I used hook 2.0 0 mm .
 Stuffing: I use polyester wool and a chopstick to stuff the doll.
 Tapestry needle, scissors.
 Safety eyes 8.00 mm .
 Stitch marke r.
I used thin black thread.
 Black embroidery thread for the nose .



Abbreviations
mr = Magic ring
ch = Chain
dc = Double crochet
hdc =Half Double crochet
st = Stitch
slst = Slip stitch
sc = Single crochet
() = Parentheses are used for repeated pa tterns of stitches, example: (2 sc, inc) x3 means
repeat 3 times (2 single crochet and one increase).
inc = 2 sc in the same stitch
dec = 2 sc together , but working in the front loops only
inc hdc= 2 hdc in the same stitch
inc dc= 2 dc in the same stitch

“Ad ele” “Bo ”
This pattern is written in US terminology and worked in spiral unless otherwise stated . Panda’s head,
body and legs are crocheted as one piece from top to bottom. Other parts are made separately.

EYE PATCHES
Use the 2.00 mm hook.
Right eye patch :
Round 1: crochet 7 chains.
Round 2: starting on the 2 nd chain from the hook, 1 sc, 1 inc, 1 inc hdc, 1 inc dc, 3 dc in
next chain, 6 dc in last chain, turn and work on the other side of the foundation chains, dc2tog
(double crochet two together decrease ) in next chain (fig 1) , 1 hdc , 2 sc in next 2 chains, 1 sl st
(fig 2).

How to Invisible Fasten off:
Using a needle, inser t it in both loops of the first sti tch after the last stitch (fig 3 ). Then, insert it
only in the back loop of the last stitch. Secure the yarn and use the remaining yarn tail for
sewing.
Left eye patch :
Round 1: crochet 7 chains.

Round 2: starting on the 2 nd chain from the hook, 1 sl st, 2 sc in next 2 chains, 1 hdc,
dc2tog (double crochet two together decrease ) in next chain, 6 dc in last chain (fig 4) , turn and

After inserting the safety eyes into the patches (fi g 10) , attach it to the head between rounds
17 and 18 with 12 stitches apart .
● Note: to attach the eye patches in the center of the head, skip 17 stitches from beginning,
then attach the first ey e patch , skip next 12 stitches and attach the second eye pat ch .

How to change the color of yarn:
With the two loops from the previous yarn on th e hook (fig 16 ), wrap around the new yarn
around the hook, pull the new yarn through the two loops of the stitch (fig 17) .

Stuff the body.
Crochet 2 sc more and put your marker here . It will be the new beginning .
W e are going to make t he legs. Mark the beginning of the round for left leg .
Cut the white yarn leaving a long yarn tail for sewing a gap between legs later.

LEGS

First, make the left leg: attach the pink yarn (fig 20, 21), crochet 18 sc (round 51). Leave 26
stitches . Insert your hook in the very first stitch of le ft leg for the next round (round 52) (fig 22).
Continue with the pattern. Stuff as you go.

How to close the end of the round: with a darning needle, insert the remaining yarn through all
the front loops of the st itches on the last round (fig 24 ). Pull all together at once and sew to
hide the yarn inside the part you are working on (fig 25) .

Right leg:
Lay the doll facing in front of you.
From the right leg’s first round, count 3 stitches away on both sides then insert your h ook
across b oth stitches (fig 26 ) and make a slip stitch . On that same stitch crochet the first sc of
right leg, then continue the pattern.

How to Invisible Fasten off:

Round 5: working only in back loops , start by crocheting 3chs . Then, make the next
combination (2 dc +2 ch +2 dc ) (fig 37 , 38 ). Skip the 2 stitches between shells.
To make the next rounds, start by crocheting 2 slip stitches to get to the gap of the first
shell and make 3 chs. Then, repeat the pattern (2dc+2ch+2dc ), (fig 39 ).
The number of rounds will depend on how long you want your panda ’s skirt be. I made 5
rounds in mine (fig 40 ).

BOW

Round 1: crochet 10 chains.
Rounds 2 -7-: ch 1, turn, 10 sc across.

Edging:
Turn your work, bring the yarn around the loop (from left to right). Now the yarn lays in front of
the loop (fig 43). Insert your hook in a stitch and make a sc. You will have to repeat the process
in every stitch around the bow. Make 2 sc in every corner (fig 44, 45) .
Make a lace of 70 chains. Use this lace to tie the center of the bow and onto the ne ck of the
giraffe (fig 46, 47 ).

ASSE MBLING:

- Embroider the nose.

- Place the muzzle between the eyes and make the oval form. Stuff it firmly and fix it with
pins . Sew it to head across the sti tch of muzzle and next stitch of head (fig 51, 52) .

- Sew to secure the eye patche s onto the face of your panda. Y ou can either sew it just
beside the muzzle like they are all attached together. Or pu t a bit of space between
them. I sew mine with a space between the lower part of the eye patches and the
muzzle.

How to make invisible decrease :
Insert your hook in the front loops ( a) and then ( b) (fig 1), go in the front loop ( a) and in ( b) (fig 2, 3).
Yarn over and pull through the front loops ( a) and ( b) (fig 4). Yarn over and pull through the 2 remaining
loops (fig 5).
