Materials:
Hayfield Bonus (DK) White 0961 – 3g
Hayfield Bonus (DK) Contrast – 2g
Keychain
Hi-Loft Quality Toy Stuffing
3mm Crochet Hook
Wool Needle (for sewing)
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
htr – half treble crochet
inc – 2 stitches into next stitch
dec – decrease over next two stitches in front loops only
BLO – dc into back loops only picking up the extra loop at the back of the previous htr row
to create a firmer stitch
sl st – slip stitch
f/o – fasten off by slip stitch in next stitch
Note:
Unless stated work in continuous rounds marking last stitch of each row with a stitch
marker before proceeding with the next.
When stuffing make sure that you don’t overstuff as you don’t want the stuffing to show
through when complete.
Each part should be filled just enough that it can be easily squeezed when pinched firmly.
Ears (x2):
Inner (x2):
Usi ng Contrast
Row 1: ch2, dc 6 into 2 nd
st from hook (alternatively dc 6sts into magic ring) (6) DO NOT
JOIN
F/O leaving a short end
Outer (x2):
Using Contrast
Row 1: ch2, dc 6 into 2 nd
st from hook (alternatively dc 6sts into magic ring) (6) DO NOT
CUT END
Row 2: place the inner and outer ears wrong sides together, with the inner on top, sl st to
join, ch1, (dc into next st, inc) x3 around the outer curve (9)

PUT TO ONE SIDE
DO NOT CUT ENDS AS WILL GO INSIDE HEAD LATER .
Head:
Using White
Row 1: ch2, dc 6 into 2 nd
st from hook (alternatively dc 6sts into magic ring) (6)
Row 2: inc x6 (12)
Row 3: (dc into next st, inc) x6 (18)
Row 4: dc (18)
Row 5: htr (18)
Row 6: BLO row: dc into next 6sts, inc x6, dc into next 6sts (24)
Rows 7 – 9: dc (24) (3 rows)
Row 10: dc into next 6sts, place ear on head with inner underneath and dc into the next
4sts through all the layers, dc into next 5sts, place ear on head with white underneath and
dc into the next 4sts through all the layers, dc into next 5sts (24)
Row 11: dc (24)
OPTIONAL: TIE ENDS OFF ON THE INSIDE OF HEAD AND THEN CUT ENDS TO 1CM
IN LENGTH
Row 12: (dc into next 2sts, dec) x6 (18)
Row 13: (dc into next st, dec) x6 (12)
Stuff head
Row 14: dec x6 (6)
F/O leaving a 30cm end.
Using a running st through FLO of last 6sts pull tight to gather.
Secure with a couple of small sts.
Using the remaining wool thread through the centre top of head, in line with the middle of
the ears.
Do 4 small back sts to secure keychain to head.
Secure end and weave in through body before cutting flush.
Nose :
Using Contrast
Row 1: ch2, dc 2 into 2 nd
st from hook (alternatively dc 2sts into magic ring) (2)
F/O leaving a 40cm end.
Place the nose on the face s o that the base of nose is 1 row above the starting circle of the
muzzle and so that the right side is facing inwards.
Using small back/over-sew sts attach nose to face.
OPTIONAL: USING A SMALL BACK ST, ADD A SMALL POST FROM THE BASE OF THE
NOSE THROUGH THE STARTING CIRCLE.

Secure end with a couple of small sts into nose.
Weave end through head and cut flush
Eye Patches (x2):
Using Contrast
Row 1: leaving a 5cm end at the start, ch2, dc 6 into 2 nd
st from hook (alternatively dc 6sts
into magic ring) do not sl st to join as the flat end will sit flush to the top of the nose (6)
F/O leaving a 20cm end.
Place on the head so that the inside edges of eye patches are 1 or 2sts apart, the flat edge
should sit on top of BLO line .
T hread start end through head 3 sts from centre of face, just above BLO line.
Bring out at back of head and pull tight to position
Attach eye patches to face using small back sts.
Eyes (x2):
In white , embroider either a chain st or several small back sts from the starting circle of
each eye patch down to flat base to form the pupils.
Secure ends and thread through head before cutting off.
