Tree Pincushion:
1. Following manufacturer's directions, fuse a piece of fusible
fleece to the tree fabric.
2. Using a plastic template made from template A & B, trace
and cut out three A's and one B from tree/fused fleece.
3. Sew two A's together then sew the third A to this.

Common Quilting Acronyms:
WS = wrong side of fabric
RS = right side of fabric
HST = half square triangle
RST = right sides together
FQ = fat quarter (18” x 22”)
FE = fat eighth (18” x 11”)
WOFQ = width of fat quarter

4. Sew the tree body side closed.
5. To center tree base, take B and fold in half. Pin both sides
along the fold. Now open and refold matching the pins
you just placed together. Pin on the new side folds.
6. Follow the same process pinning the open bottom of the
tree base.

12. Center the open end of the tree trunk on the bottom
of the tree and pin. Stitch the trunk to the base of the
tree leaving a small opening for filling with poly pellets or
crushed walnut shells for weight. Once filled to desired
capacity stitch closed. Remove basting.
13. The star is made with two star buttons without a shank
and a flower pin. Place the flower end of a flat flower pin
between the two star buttons and glue.

Pin together, matching pins in both the tree and tree base.
Pin in between these pins to secure and stitch together.
Leave a two inch opening for turning.
8. Turn RS out and fill with stuffing. Stitch closed. Press
seam for a crisp edge.
9. Following manufacturer's directions, fuse a piece of fusible
fleece to the tree trunk fabric.
10. Fold D in half and with RST stitch along the shor t end.
Press open.
11. With D and C follow the same procedure as in step five
through seven. Once the trunk is made, mark the 1/4"
seam at the raw edge and fold along the marked line.
Baste down. Press bottom seam for a crisp edge.
