INSTRUCTIONS – PART 1: DOLL

Head:
Use Lizbeth 40, ecru color.
Chain 5.
Crochet in continuous rounds.
Round 1: 1 sc in 2 nd ch from hook, 2 sc, 4 sc in last st; go around the ch and 2 sc, 3 sc in last
st – 12 sts
Round 2: inc, 2 sc, 4 inc, 2 sc, 3 inc – 20 sts
Rounds 3 – 7: 20 s c
Round 8: dec, 2 sc, 4 dec, 2 sc, 3 dec – 12 sts
Stuff the head well.
Round 9: 6 dec – 6 sts
Round 10: 6 inc – 12 sts
Round 11: (sc, inc) x 6 – 18 sts
Round 12: (2 sc, inc) x 6 – 24 sts
Leave 5 sts on each side of the body for arms. I usually mark them with thread. You will
have 14 sts left for the body (7 in front and 7 in the back of the body).
Since the head is flat, make sure the holes you leave for arms align with the head (see
picture below). If they don’t align, the body will be twisted.
Round 13: for this round, you should be cr ocheting in the middle 14 sts (between the 5 sts
you left on each side for arms)

Rounds 14 – 15: 14 s c
Stuff the body well. We are continuing with the legs from where we stopped with the body.

Each leg is made of 6 sts and 5 rounds. You will leave 2 sts in the middle (one in front and
one in the back). Those 2 sts will be sewn later.
You should be able to continue with the first leg from where you stopped with the body.

After finishing the 1 st leg, start the 2 nd one. You may start in any one stitch you choose.
Insert the hook, pull and ch 1.

Then 1 sc in same st and continue crocheting for 5 rounds. Remember that each round
consists of 6 sts.
After finishing both legs (again make sure they align with the arms and head), secure the
stitches (there are tutorials on the 2 nd page of this document). Sew the 2 middle sts you left
earlier.

Arms (x 2):
Start the arms in the back of the doll. Insert hook in any stitch you want and sc in the 5 sts
you left earlier for arms. The arms consist of 5 sts and 5 rnds .

Eyes:
Using DMC cotton perle size 12 thread , sew the eyes on round 6 of the head, 4 sts apart. I
sewed twice to make the eyes a little bigger.

Hair:
I used mocha brown thread for the hair and 1mm hook . Join rounds with a slip stitch.
