Sewing the pieces together

Fold the ears so that they are almost in half, but not quite (as in the
picture) Sew both ears on with a sharp needle using your loose
ends.

Sew both of the horns onto the
head with your sharp needle.
Embroider the nose using
black embroidery floss
(optional).

Stuff the body firmly, and sew it
underneath the head with your sharp
needle.

Sew the tail to the back bottom of the body with a sharp needle.
Take 3 strands of yarn and pull them through the end of the tail with
your crochet hook. Tie a knot. Cut the ends to the length that you
desire. Separate the yarn to get that fuzzy cute look.

Do the same for the hair on his head. Cut three pieces of yarn, pull
them through the top middle of the head with your crochet hook, tie
a knot, cut to the desired length, and then separate the pieces of
yarn.

Stuff all four legs firmly and sew them onto the Giraffe body.

Now you will felt the spots onto the giraffe. This is just optional  If
you have never felted before, it is easy and fun! You will just need
some brown wool roving and a needle felting tool. Put a small
amount of the roving onto the tool. It doesn’t take much, and you
can always add more and make the spots bigger if you would like.

Now pick a spot you would like to add a brown spot and start
stabbing the needle in and out. I made my spots in all different
shapes and sizes. Just start with a little bit and keep adding.
Shoes: (make 2)
Please Note: The shoes are crocheted with DK weight yarn and an F
size crochet hook. Be sure to check your gauge (see the notes

Trim for the bottom of the dress:
Turn your dress upside down as shown below. Either side is fine as
there is not a wrong or right side as of now.

You will be working the trim in the ends of the rows (the double
crochet’s and chain 3’s) Start on the right side of the dress where
you see the green arrow and join with a sl st in the first ch 3 space;
Row 1: ch 3, 4 dc in the same ch 3 space, (sc in the next space, 5 dc
in the next space) repeat 12 more times, do not fasten off.
Sewing the seam in the back of the dress:
Fold your dress with right sides together and slip stitch half way up
the dress to sew the back together starting from the bottom (as
shown in the picture below with the green arrow) Fasten off.

Weave in your loose ends. Here is how the front and the back of
your dress will look:

Now you will make the ‘ties’ that will tie everything together at the
neckline. You can either use a long piece of yarn (that is what I did
here), or you can take 3 long strands and braid them together to
make the ties.
Take your tie, and starting at the back left hand side of your dress
weave your tie in and out of the neckline to gather it. You can
either use your crochet hook, or a sharp needle to weave it in. Go
around to the front of the dress and gather it, and then to the back
again. You will be able to slip the dress onto the giraffe and then tie
a bow in the back of the dress (pictures below)

You are finished. Enjoy your cute little giraffe!
