Generation X, or Generation X, is the demographic cohort that follows the Baby Boomer and pre-millennials. There are no exact dates when Generation X will start or end. Demographers and researchers typically use birth years ranging from the early to mid 1960s to early 1980s.
Generation X were children during a shift in social values, and as children were sometimes referred to as the “key generation,” due to reduced adult supervision of children compared to previous generations, as a result of increased divorce rates and increased labor force participation by mothers. and how childcare services became widely available outside the home. When they were teenagers and young adults, they were dubbed the "MTV Generation" (a reference to the music video channel of the same name). In the 1990s, they were sometimes described as slackers, cynical and disaffected. Some of the cultural influences on Gen X youth were the musical genres of punk, heavy metal, grunge and hip hop, as well as indie films. Research shows that they are active, happy, and achieve work-life balance in middle age. The cohort is credited with being entrepreneurial.
Millennials, also known as Generation Y or Generation Y, are a demographic cohort of generations following Generation X and preceding Generation Z. There are no exact dates when this cohort begins or ends; demographers and researchers generally use the early 1980s as the initial years of birth and the mid-1990s to the early 2000s as the final years of birth. Millennials are sometimes called "echo boomers" because of the spike in fertility in the 1980s and 1990s, and because millennials are often the children of baby boomers. Although the characteristics of millennials differ by region, depending on social and economic conditions, this generation as a whole has been characterized by increased use and familiarity with communications, media and digital technologies.
Generation Z or Generation Z, also known by other names, is a post-millennial demographic (Generation Y). There is no exact date for the start of Gen Z, but demographers and researchers generally use the mid-1990s to mid-2000s as the starting year of birth. There is no consensus regarding the end of the year of birth.
Most Gen Zers have used the Internet from a young age and are accustomed to technology and social media.
